North West Seaside Town Named Among Britain's Toughest Places to Rent a Home
Rightmove said the North West accounted for six of the 10 most competitive rental locations, while Scotland led regions with 19 inquiries per home.

- Across Britain, rental competition averaged 11 inquiries per property during July and August, down from 12 a year earlier and significantly below the 2022 peak of 28, Rightmove reported.
- While national average advertised rents remain at a record £1,580 per month, the pace of rent growth has slowed as improving supply gives tenants more choice than during the pandemic-era peak.
- Rightmove property expert Colleen Babcock advises prospective tenants to "start a search early and being ready with the information an agent or landlord may need" to secure properties in competitive markets.
