- On Wednesday, KCNA reported that North Korean leader Kim Jong Un said the ruling Workers' Party congress will clarify the next-stage plans for further bolstering the country's nuclear deterrent, as he oversaw a ballistic missile test on Tuesday.
- The congress, expected in the coming weeks, is the first in five years and Kim Jong Un said boosting military capability is the ruling Workers' Party's invariable line.
- The KCNA said the launcher fired four missiles that hit a target 358.5 kilometers away, with state media adding the upgraded large-caliber multiple rocket launcher improved mobility and accuracy.
- The test came a day after Elbridge Colby visited Seoul, with Washington still stationing 28,500 troops in South Korea and South Korea and Japan detecting missile activity, highlighting nuclear deterrence.
- Since December, Pyongyang has test-fired hypersonic missiles, long-range strategic cruise missiles and new anti-air missiles, and experts say it needs multiple warheads to defeat rivals' missile defences.

North Korean driver Kim Jong One monitored the testing of a modernized missile launch system, transmits Wednesday to the KCNA official press agency in North Korea, taken by dpa, according to Agerpres.
