- The country's atomic arsenal was legally enshrined, with Choe stating in a Korean Central News Agency release that the "steadfast will of our state to keep nuclear weapons" is "everlasting."
- While Lee seeks to "lay the groundwork" for talks between Washington and Pyongyang, Choe rejected the coexistence of "confrontation and dialogue" as unworkable for the DPRK.
- Separately, Pyongyang tested "updated 240-millimetre controlled multiple-launch rockets" on September 22, while President Donald Trump said last month he planned to meet Kim Jong later this year.
