North Korea ruling party revisions bolster Kim Jong Un’s control, report says
The revised rules give Kim Jong Un explicit powers to appoint officials and dissolve party bodies, while raising the minimum membership age to 20.

- Revisions strengthen Kim Jong-un authority by granting explicit powers to convene meetings and appoint officials, while removing references to achievements of his predecessors Kim Il-sung and Kim Jong-il.
- Operational changes mandate Central Committee plenary meetings every six months and raise minimum Party membership age to 20 from 18; the Party can now skip internal elections during wartime.
- The INSS described the revisions as "Kim Jong Un era 2.0," institutionalizing Party control over state and military while allowing Kim to exercise direct authority without relying on collective decision-making bodies.
