‘Fair to whom?’ package on Prop. 50 spurs sharp disagreement

Re “Prop. 50 disenfranchises East County voters” (Sept. 29) and “Prop. 50 lets Californians counter abuse of power” (Sept. 29): Let’s face it. Gerrymandering stinks. But I will hold my nose and support Proposition 50. All contributors to the “Fair to whom?” package in the Monday newspaper are justifiably concerned with the demise of our democracy. On Nov. 4, voters will decide Proposition 50, a congressional redistricting proposal, to temporarily overturn decisions made by their own Citizens Redistricting Commission in 2021.

No on Prop. 50 campaign launches new TV ads

One of the groups working to sway voters to oppose partisan redistricting in California has launched new television ads.  Stop Sacramento’s Power Grab, a No on Prop. 50 group, has released two new TV ads this week, which follow up on its first TV buy last week.  Driving the news: California Gov.
