- The group cited European cities including Amsterdam and Utrecht that restricted meat advertising for environmental reasons, while noting estimates that about 73 per cent of antimicrobials globally are used in animals raised for food.
- At the BRICS Summit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi served meat-free spreads to world leaders, reflecting India's centuries-old tradition of meat-free eating rooted in ahimsa and its status as home to the world's largest vegetarian population.
- PETA India also alleged that current industry practices involve cruel handling of goats, sheep, and pigs, alongside overcrowded transport of cattle and buffaloes, further justifying the proposed advertising ban.
