Nintendo Switch 2 Is Getting Three of the Best Horror Games of the Decade Just in Time for Halloween
Capcom says the three digital remakes will arrive with downloadable content, including Resident Evil 4’s Separate Ways expansion, and help players prepare for Code: Veronica.
- On October 16, Capcom will release the 2019 remake of Resident Evil 2 to the Switch, alongside the 2020 and 2023 remakes of RE3 and RE4.
- With more than 19 million copies sold, RE2 has reached nearly anyone interested in the Resident Evil franchise, while Capcom has maintained a generational run of success.
- Bundled with all respective DLC, the Switch releases of RE2 and RE4 include the Separate Ways expansion, which recounts events from Ada Wong's perspective alongside Leon Kennedy's story.
- Following the events of RE2, the upcoming Code: Veronica remake focuses on Claire Redfield searching for her brother Chris Redfield, building on the 2000 Sega Dreamcast original.
- During 2026 alone, Capcom released three of this year's best games: Resident Evil Requiem, Pragmata, and Onimusha: Way of the Sword, demonstrating sustained creative momentum.
