He ended the winter as he started it. Norwegian Johan-Olav Botn dominated the first and very last race of the biathlon World Cup season. In Oslo, he showed flawless shooting in the mass event and broke German Philipp Nawrath in the end. The winner of the big crystal globe, Frenchman Eric Perrot, came third. Of the three Czechs in the race, Vítězslav Hornig did the best, finishing in 19th place.
