A new school is preparing to open in the Coachella Valley: Valley Independent in Palm Desert. The school will serve students from preschool through sixth grade and was created after the closure of Palm Valley School. The campus has a playground and classrooms that are being prepared to receive students. The new school year will begin at the end of August.
