Wisteria-Killing Woman Ignores Judge's Restraining Order
The court ordered Atidel Boutara Cook to pay £500 and imposed a five-year restraining order after she damaged a neighbour’s plants and used a crutch in the assault.
At Highbury Corner Magistrates' Court, Atidel Boutara Cook breached a new five-year restraining order immediately after sentencing, prompting the judge to warn her before she left the courtroom.
Boutara Cook was convicted of criminal damage and assault following a December 17 incident at their shared Victorian home in Tottenham, north London, where she destroyed Wong's wisteria plant and struck her with a crutch.
District Judge Denis Brennan told Cook she made the lives of Wong and Scott a "misery," noting she continued to "interfere" with the property, including "ongoing banging at night" that impacted Wong's sleep.
Cook blew a kiss toward the couple after receiving a £500 fine, asking "Happy?" and claiming she would pay "all at once" so they could "go on holiday."
Wong feels "trapped in her home, intimidated, anxious and emotionally exhausted," leading to CCTV installation, while the judge warned police involvement would be considered following the immediate breach.
