Negeri Sembilan Dewan Keadilan rules Sept 5 document treasonous, Tuanku Muhriz remains Yang di‑Pertuan Besar
The council said four signatories lacked the offices they claimed and that no lawful investigation preceded the abdication bid.
The Dewan Keadilan dan Undang council declared on September 14 that the September 5 document attempting to depose Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir constitutes treason, confirming his status as state ruler.
DKU secretary Raja Norazli Raja Nordin stated the six signatories lacked official standing and failed to conduct a mandatory investigation, violating the Laws of the Constitution of Negeri Sembilan 1959.
An April 19 proclamation signed by four individuals was void because then-Menteri Besar Aminuddin Harun refused to sign it, and three of the signatories held no valid Undang position.
Menteri Besar Ismail Lasim claims he signed the September 5 document under duress, a matter now under police investigation, while the DKU rejected a state-proposed reconciliation committee.
Asserting its authority over customary matters, the DKU advised all parties to cease spreading groundless allegations regarding the institutions of the Yang di-Pertuan Besar and the Undang.
KUALA PILAH - The Justice and Law Council (DKU) has affirmed that the position of Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir as the Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan is permanent.
