New Reseating Process Announced Following Memorial Stadium Renovation
Nebraska said the new process will give current season-ticket holders and donors earlier choices as Memorial Stadium’s seating changes.
- Nebraska Athletics unveiled a two-phase reseating plan for Memorial Stadium on Tuesday, requiring all season-ticket holders to select new seats before the 2027 season when construction will reduce capacity to about 65,000.
- Part of the $600 million 'Big Red Rebuild' project, the renovations will modernize Memorial Stadium's west and south sides, with construction scheduled to begin after Nebraska's November 21, 2026, home finale against Ohio State.
- Appointment times for selection will be determined by the Huskers Athletic Fund ranking system as of February 11, 2027. Fans without season tickets can join the request list starting in October with a $100 nonrefundable deposit.
- The university will discontinue legacy priority seating contributions in 2027, and the student section will move to the south end zone, creating a redesigned Boneyard closer to the field to increase crowd noise.
- A second full seat-selection process will occur in spring 2028 as the renovation nears completion, with stadium capacity projected to increase to about 80,000 for the following season.
