NDLEA intercepts N6.2bn worth of 'Jihadi drug' in Ghana soap

- On Sunday, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency announced massive seizures at Murtala Muhammed International Airport , intercepting 47,200 Captagon pills and over 3.9 million opioid tablets worth more than N6.2 billion.
- Traffickers are increasingly using creative concealment methods, hiding illicit drugs inside blocks of soap and fireproof iron safes, prompting NDLEA Chairman Buba Marwa to urge officers to maintain operational pressure.
- In Ondo State, authorities recovered 728kg of skunk on Friday, August 28, while operations across Delta State between Wednesday, August 26, and Friday, August 28, yielded more than 176,000 opioid pills.
- Officers arrested cross-border kingpin Akinbile Kazeem Aikins on August 22, who claimed he was destined for the North, and separately detained US returnee Sowunmi David Oludotun in Lagos for importing Loud cannabis.
- Beyond enforcement, the NDLEA continued its War Against Drug Abuse sensitization campaigns this week, conducting enlightenment lectures for students and youths in Gombe, Kano, and Edo states.
