2027: 'Not From Us' - NDC Disowns Presidential Campaign Council Set up by OK Movement

Cleopas Moses said the OK Movement’s PCC announcement was unauthorized and warned that only the National Working Committee can approve party structures.

  • On Saturday, the Nigeria Democratic Congress disowned a purported Presidential Campaign Council announced by the OK Movement, stating the announcement did not emanate from the party and should be disregarded by the public.
  • The OK Movement, supporting presidential candidate Peter Obi and vice-presidential candidate Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, recently announced the unauthorized council. NDC National Chairman Cleopas Moses stated the announcement by John Ugulu was not authorized by the party.
  • Moses emphasized that candidates must appreciate they are not running as independent individuals and remain subject to the party's authority and discipline. Only the party leadership can constitute and announce a campaign council.
  • Henceforth, no member or support group may announce any campaign structure without prior approval from the National Working Committee . Unauthorized actions undermine party unity and demarcate its structure.
  • The NDC recognizes and deeply appreciates the contribution of all support groups, welcoming those identifying with its mission to rescue Nigeria. The party insists such groups operate within established party hierarchy and guidelines.
