NBC helicopter crash in LA kills at least three people with others injured
On Tuesday evening, an NBC4 news helicopter crashed between two commercial buildings in Chatsworth, killing three people, including a pedestrian on the ground, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The aircraft went down while covering a deadly collision involving a Metro bus and an SUV that occurred two hours earlier on Nordhoff Street, officials said.
Fifty-Six firefighters responded to the fiery wreckage, while NBC4 anchor Colleen Williams confirmed on air that the station had lost contact with its crew.
One additional person was transported to a hospital in unknown condition, while the National Transportation Safety Board and Federal Aviation Administration announced they will investigate the crash.
The crash renews scrutiny over aerial news gathering in Los Angeles, where helicopter coverage has long defined broadcast journalism and exposed reporters to inherent airspace risks.
The anchor Colleen Williams was thrilled to announce live, alongside presenter Jonathan Gonzalez, the death of two colleagues from the American broadcaster NBC4 in a helicopter crash in Los Angeles, United States. What HappenedThe air reporter Eli
