Sixers-Knicks Tickets for Playoff Games at Xfinity Mobile Arena Restricted to Philadelphia-Area Residents
The team said buyers must have billing addresses in the greater Philadelphia area, a move aimed at limiting Knicks fans and protecting homecourt advantage.
The Philadelphia 76ers are restricting primary ticket sales for their second-round playoff series against the New York Knicks to residents of the Greater Philadelphia area, with orders from outside the region canceled without notice.
Following the team's Game 7 victory over Boston on Saturday, Joel Embiid pleaded with fans not to sell tickets, recalling how Knicks supporters previously turned Xfinity Mobile Arena into "Madison Square Garden East" two years ago.
Residency verification will be based on credit card billing addresses, with the team clarifying that residents of Harrisburg, Lancaster, and York are included in the Greater Philadelphia area.
Knicks guard Josh Hart expressed skepticism Sunday, stating "Good thing about New Yorkers, man, they're persistent," and suggesting fans will find ways to purchase tickets despite restrictions.
While the policy applies only to initial sales, resale platforms operate independently, allowing visiting fans to potentially secure seats for Games 3, 4, and 6 when the 76ers host starting Friday, May 8.
