- Yesterday, Hadrian opened Factory 4 in Cherokee, unveiling a $2.4 billion public-private manufacturing facility dedicated to Columbia- and Virginia-class submarine programs.
- The U.S. Navy said capacity shortfalls and labor shortages in the submarine industrial base prompted the project, with Secretary Phelan emphasizing the need for private-sector partnership.
- The 2.2 million-square-foot site in The Shoals was converted into an advanced hub where Hadrian's Opus platform automates demanding steps with AI, machine learning, and robotics, enabling technicians to reach full productivity within 30 days.
- The project is expected to create up to 1,000 high-quality jobs when fully operational, with full-rate production within 24 months, at F4, one of three facilities producing maritime systems.
- Hadrian already operates four facilities totaling approximately 2.85M square feet across California, Arizona and Alabama and is developing more sites by integrating process engineering, AI/ML and robotics.
