Allied fighter jets were scrambled early Tuesday morning to intercept a combined Russian attack on Ukraine, the Polish military said. The Russians struck the Kiev, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Sumy and Odessa regions. According to Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha, Moscow was targeting infrastructure and residential buildings, especially at a time when extreme cold is affecting the whole of Ukraine.
Russia has carried out several missile and drone attacks on, among other things, the Ukrainian capital Kiev during the night of Tuesday. In response to the attacks, neighboring Poland has sent fighter jets into its airspace.
