City Sign Germany's Wamser From Leverkusen
The 22-year-old Germany international is City’s third summer signing and will add cover at full-back as several defenders recover from injury.
On Monday, Manchester City signed Germany full-back Carlotta Wamser from Bayer Leverkusen on a four-year deal, securing the 22-year-old as the club's third summer signing in the Women's Super League.
Wamser, a 22-year-old who plays left-back or right-back, brings 14 international caps for Germany and previously played for SGS Essen, Eintracht Frankfurt, and Leverkusen.
"English league is the best league in the world," Wamser said, calling the move to City the "perfect step" for her career development.
City director of football Therese Sjogran added that the club has "admired" the young talent "for some time," praising her energy and willingness to learn.
The arrival boosts the WSL champions following injuries to Niamh Charles and Vivianne Miedema, as City begins their title defense at home against Birmingham City on Sunday.
