Son of Colorado Congresswoman Lauren Boebert arrested, accused of sexual exploitation of a child
He remains free on a $10,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Garfield County District Court on Aug. 19, officials said.
- Tyler Boebert, the 21-year-old son of U.S. Rep. Lauren Boebert, faces five felony charges including sexual exploitation of a child and was released from Garfield County jail on Sunday after posting a $10,000 bond.
- Authorities allege the crimes occurred on Jan. 1, 2024. Boebert previously faced 22 felony and misdemeanor charges in 2024 related to vehicle break-ins in Rifle, pleading guilty to attempted identity theft with a two-year deferred sentence.
- Scheduled to appear in Garfield County District Court on Aug. 19, Boebert faces three counts of sexual exploitation of a child and two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
- Rep. Lauren Boebert's office did not return requests for comment Monday. In a 2024 statement, she said her son "will take responsibility for his actions and should be held accountable."
- National House Democrats recently added the Colorado congressional district held by Boebert to their list of vulnerable seats, targeting the Republican-held district as part of a $15 million campaign effort this year.
