Married Couple Shot Dead Outside Oakland Hills Home
Investigators are considering a possible murder-suicide after the couple died at the scene, and police said there is no current threat to the neighborhood.
- On Friday morning, clothing designers Bryan Walker and Michelle Walker were fatally shot outside their home on Panoramic Way in the Oakland Hills, authorities said. The Berkeley Police Department and Oakland police confirmed both died at the scene.
- The couple operated Bryn Walker clothing stores in Berkeley and Massachusetts, with their apparel sold wholesale to boutiques across the country. They were well-known in the apparel industry.
- Oakland Police Assistant Chief Casey Johnson said the victims were 63 and 61 years old. Investigators are not ruling out a possible murder-suicide, with Johnson stating, "We aren't looking currently for anyone at large."
- Neighbor Alessandro Isolani reported hearing "two bangs, not too far apart, one louder, the other more muffled." He described Bryan as "a good guy, solid member of the community" after 20 years on Panoramic Hill.
- The shooting occurred at approximately 10:43 a.m. near the University of California, Berkeley campus, just east of the city limit. Authorities continue investigating the circumstances surrounding the fatal incident.
