CCA Celebrates Founder Phyllis Lambert as She Turns 100
The program will include exhibitions, films and publications on housing and heritage as Lambert prepares to turn 100.
On Tuesday, the Canadian Centre for Architecture launched a yearlong centennial program honoring founder Phyllis Lambert as she approaches her 100th birthday.
Describing Montreal as a "city of communities," the 99-year-old architect advocated for greater citizen involvement in shaping urban development and policy decisions.
The centennial initiative features exhibitions, films, publications, and public conversations exploring housing, heritage, ecology, and urban life across the yearlong program.
Lambert will release her memoir, "My First Hundred Years," in January, further documenting her extensive career in architecture and urban activism.
As citizens increasingly take an interest in urban development, Lambert emphasized they need a strong voice in shaping how cities evolve.
