Murder investigation - Mystery after woman's body found in bin bag at Liverpool park
Detectives say the woman may have been there for weeks as they review CCTV, house-to-house inquiries and missing persons reports.
On Friday, Merseyside Police launched a murder investigation after discovering a woman's body in a bin bag in Stanley Park, Liverpool, shortly before 17:30 BST.
Det Supt Rachel Wilson stated the body likely remained in the walled garden for a number of weeks. The victim, approximately 5ft 2in tall with strawberry blonde hair, wore a cerise pink Nike t-shirt.
A post-mortem examination occurred on Saturday, though results remain withheld for "investigation reasons." Police confirmed they checked missing persons reports in Merseyside and beyond but have yet to identify the woman.
Assistant Chief Constable Andy Ryan established a mobile police station in the park to support the ongoing murder investigation. Officers are patrolling the area and appealing for witnesses to come forward.
