Murder arrest after man found dead next to seriously injured girl in Northern Ireland

- On Saturday, the Northern Ireland Major Investigation Team launched a murder inquiry after a man was found dead in a Dungannon home alongside a seriously injured child.
- Emergency services arrived at the Lisnahull Road property shortly before 11am, responding to reports of a very serious domestic incident that prompted the immediate response.
- Police arrested a male suspect on suspicion of murder and attempted murder, who remains in custody as a woman is also believed to have been injured in the incident.
- The PSNI has cordoned off the property as forensic examinations take place, urging members of the public to avoid the Lisnahull Road area during the investigation.
- Sinn Féin councillor Deirdre Varsani described "a strong sense of shock and trauma" in the area, noting the community will address the impact in the days ahead as investigations continue.
