- On Thursday, Centrus Energy announced plans to expand its American Centrifuge Plant in Piketon, Ohio, and has begun hiring at the Ross County Employment Expo in Chillicothe.
- Centrus recently submitted proposals to the U.S. Department of Energy seeking awards to expand Low-Enriched Uranium and High-Assay, Low-Enriched Uranium, saying `The time has come to restore America's ability to enrich uranium at scale`.
- Centrifuges will be manufactured in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, using 14 major suppliers in 13 states, and Centrus raised more than $1.2 billion with over $2 billion in contingent purchase commitments.
- Ohio Governor Mike DeWine and U.S. Senator Jon Husted said the project reinforces Ohio's economic and national security role, while Pike County, Ohio, with 7.2% unemployment, stands to gain jobs.
