Sooke Hills Fire Grows to 50 Hectares, Smoke Visible Across the South Island

- This incident remains the largest of several wildfires burning on Vancouver Island, including a 12-hectare fire near the 16-kilometre mark of Nitnat Main, northwest of Lake Cowichan.
