The Signs MOTD Presenters Mark Chapman and Kelly Cates Were Dating
The BBC co-hosts are said to have started seeing each other earlier this year after Chapman ended a three-year relationship, sources said.
Match of the Day host Mark Chapman and co-presenter Kelly Cates are reportedly dating, with the BBC pair believed to have started seeing each other earlier this year.
Chapman split from Dubai-based estate agent Clere Collier in April after three years together, with Collier reportedly confronting him about his closeness with Cates. Chapman denies any overlap between the relationships.
Professional colleagues Chapman and Cates, 51, serve as principal presenters of Match of the Day alongside Gabby Logan. Chapman lost his wife Sara in 2020, while Cates ended her marriage to TV producer Tom Cates in 2021.
On a podcast with co-host Logan, Cates admitted to anxieties about dating, saying she would feel "resentful" about wasting time on dates, as she rarely gets to see people she likes.
Public attention has grown around the transition, though Chapman denies any overlap between his previous relationship and his new romance. Representatives for Chapman and Cates have been contacted for comment regarding the ongoing speculation.
The pair are reported romantically involved after Chapman, 52, was accused by his ex-girlfriend Clere Necklace of dating Cates while they were still together.
