It is reported that before launching airstrikes on Iran, Israel assessed that an internal uprising could cause the collapse of the Iranian theocratic government. Israel conveyed a scenario containing this information to the U.S. to persuade them to start the war; although the conflict with Iran did indeed break out, the expected developments did not occur, leaving the war in a situation where it has yet to find a resolution.
