More than a quarter of holidaymakers visit the same destination every year
More than 25% of holidaymakers revisit the same destination yearly or biennially, averaging six visits, motivated by enjoyment, safety, ease of planning, and emotional ties.
- A OnePoll.com survey of 2,000 adults found more than a quarter of holidaymakers visit the same destination every year or every other year, with an average of six visits.
- Respondents cited enjoyment and said repeat visits to favourite resorts are easier to plan , often motivated by an emotional connection.
- The research went on to reveal 52 per cent of holidaymakers who exercise would book fitness-focused trips, up from 33 per cent last year, with 38 per cent sticking to routines and 24 per cent enjoying fitness as much as relaxing.
- Parents and providers face 64 per cent prioritising children's engagement and 23 per cent considering their preferences, prompting David Taylor, CEO of Neilson Beach Clubs, to offer diverse activities.
- Activity data show swimming leads at 50 per cent, while 67 per cent want a break from technology and many view activities as stress-reducing.
