Mass Layoffs Hit Live Nation-Owned Veeps & Music Outlets
Nearly all staff at the four music outlets were laid off, leaving the future of the publications unclear, Pitchfork reported.
- On Tuesday, Live Nation-owned Veeps reportedly enacted mass layoffs at BrooklynVegan, Alternative Press, Revolver, and Goldmine, effectively gutting staff at these long-running music outlets.
- Veeps, a ticketing company founded by Good Charlotte's Joel and Benji Madden, acquired these publications between 2020 and 2025 after they were previously held by Project M.
- While Alternative Press, Revolver, and Goldmine were gutted of unspecified staff, BrooklynVegan founder Dave Levine appears to be the only staffer retained, as emails to others bounced back.
- Publicist Jacob Daneman criticized the "utterly unceremonious and moronic actions by Veeps" on social media, while fans expressed concern over the publications' future.
- The future of these sites remains unclear, as BrooklynVegan has not published new content since August 4 and Veeps has not returned requests for comment.
