The lowest minimum wage under the new minimum cost of living must be set at 949 euros, or 20 percent above the minimum cost of living, and the highest at 1,107 euros, said Minister of Labor Luka Mesec.
Minister of Labor Luka Mesec will propose a significant increase in the minimum wage for 2026, so that for a single person without children and special benefits it would amount to 1,000 euros net, which is 113 euros more. The proposal is based on a new calculation of the minimum cost of living. According to the latest estimate for 2022, these have increased by 124 euros to 791 euros.
