Mongolia: Deprived of Russian Oil, the Country Faces a Fuel Shortage

Mongolia will receive 25,000 metric tons of AI-92 gasoline and 5,000 metric tons of jet fuel as summer demand strains supplies, officials said.

Following Ukrainian drone attacks on Russian oil reserves, Russia is experiencing a fuel crisis. This crisis is spreading to countries dependent on Russian resources, such as Mongolia, a vast country three times the size of France, sandwiched between China and Russia. Mongolia imports approximately 95% of its gasoline from Russia, and Mongolians are also facing a genuine shortage, particularly in the capital, Ulaanbaatar.
