Ilona Lowen, the wife of St. Louis City SC midfielder Eduard Lowen, died Monday after a battle with brain cancer. She was 28, according to a local media report.
German MLS star Eduard Löwen has suffered a huge loss. His wife, Ilona Löwen, died on Monday after a two-year battle with brain cancer. "We mourn with Eduard," his club St Louis City wrote on X.
In the Bundesliga Eduard Löwen played for 1. FC Nürnberg, Hertha BSC, FC Augsburg and VfL Bochum before he moved to the USA. There the former U21 national player now has to cope with the loss of his wife.
