- The vehicle was recovered Tuesday in Epes, Alabama, and local, state, and federal agencies are conducting a multi-agency search for Janae, whose current situation is unknown.
- Sheriff Tyree Jones described Shardee's death as suspicious, expressed huge concern for Janae's safety, and said he was unsure if an Amber Alert qualified for the case.
- Jonathan McGill, husband and father, was detained for questioning but later released, while authorities maintain no suspects and continue searching for Janae.
