- On Nov. 19, Dr. Gabrielle Henry, Miss Universe Jamaica 2025, fell from the Miss Universe preliminaries stage in Bangkok, causing an intracranial hemorrhage, fracture, and facial lacerations, MUO and family said.
- While exiting the runway, Henry slipped through an opening in the makeshift runway and was carried by onstage crew and medical personnel to Paolo Rangsit Hospital, Bangkok.
- Medical teams determined she must remain in ICU for at least seven days, while MUO covers all hospital, rehabilitation, living expenses and finances a medically escorted repatriation flight to Jamaica.
- Henry's family thanked the Miss Universe Organization for covering medical and accommodation costs and said MUO supported them as if she were their own.
- The fallout comes during a pageant already roiled by controversy, as initial Associated Press reports said she was not badly hurt, but ongoing updates from MUO and the family confirm serious injuries and an expected transfer and continued recovery in Jamaica.
