Dangerous ecstasy pills are in circulation, warns Minister Sophie Hermans (Public Health). The pills, featuring an image of US President Donald Trump, contain a very high dosage of the dangerous substance PMMA. Users risk overheating, convulsions, and loss of consciousness.
The Trimbos Institute warns of “very dangerous” ecstasy pills in which the substance PMMA has been detected. Last week, several ecstasy pills were submitted to one of the testing centers of the Drugs Information and Monitoring System (DIMS) that were found to contain a “very high amount” of PMMA. “Use of this pill can lead to overheating with a potentially fatal outcome,” the institute writes.
