Moroccan trade union sources revealed that more than 15 commercial trucks were subjected to violent attacks carried out by armed groups near the Malian capital, Bamako. Mustapha Chaaboun, president of the African Union of Transport Organizations, reported that the attack resulted in the burning of trucks and significant material losses, amid reports of two or three drivers being killed and four other Moroccan drivers being detained.
Local sources reported that the Jama'at Nusrat al-Islam wal-Muslimin (JNIM) group burned six trucks en route to the Malian capital, Bamako, in a new escalation of its operations on the main roads leading to the city.
