Microsoft Keeps Insisting that It's Deeply Committed to the Quality of Windows 11

On Friday, Microsoft announced a quality-focused plan for Windows 11, with Pavan Davuluri pledging to reduce Copilot's footprint while improving performance.
After months of community input, Microsoft reassessed Copilot's place in the OS as Davuluri said his team analyzed feedback and growing AI trust and privacy concerns, including Windows Recall delays, influenced the shift.
Beginning with apps such as Photos and Notepad, Copilot integrations will be reduced, including in Widgets and the Snipping Tool, while some planned features in Settings, File Explorer and notifications are scaled back.
Users can expect preview builds for Insiders this month and next with taskbar repositioning, File Explorer performance improvements, and reduced resource usage for Windows 11 users.
Microsoft frames the change as prioritizing selective, useful AI over ubiquity, saying Copilot is not going away despite reducing unnecessary entry points for Windows users.
