According to ChainCatcher, sources familiar with the matter revealed that Microsoft plans to expand its global data center capacity to over 38 gigawatts by 2032, more than tripling the current 12 gigawatts, to alleviate computing power shortages caused by the growth of its AI and cloud businesses. Microsoft's latest fiscal year capital expenditures reached $145 billion, and spending is expected to continue to grow in the coming years.
