Micron Forecasts Quarterly Revenue Above Estimates

The memory chip maker said AI-related demand kept supply tight and lifted adjusted profit 1,002% from a year earlier, LSEG data showed.

  • On Wednesday, September 30, 2026, Micron Technology reported record fiscal fourth-quarter revenue of $54.23 billion and adjusted EPS of $33.42, both exceeding analyst expectations. The company guided fiscal Q1 revenue of $61.5 billion.
  • Surging AI-driven demand for memory chips significantly exceeds available supply. CEO Sanjay Mehrotra noted a structural gap between DRAM supply and demand growth persists, prompting customers to increase long-term supply agreement commitments to $32 billion.
  • DRAM revenue reached a record $39.8 billion, representing 73% of total revenue, while NAND revenue hit $14.1 billion. Data center SSD revenue alone reached nearly $10 billion, over 10 times the year-ago quarter.
  • Management expects fiscal 2027 to be another record year, projecting sequential revenue growth each quarter. To address persistent supply constraints, Micron plans to increase capital spending, focusing on expanding cleanroom capacity.
  • Analysts anticipate memory and storage supply tightness will persist through 2027 and 2028 as capacity ramps take time. Despite this, Micron trades at approximately 6.8 times fiscal 2027 earnings, reflecting market skepticism about long-term margin sustainability.
