Michael Bublé, Jann Arden among musicians to toast k.d. lang at tribute concert tonight
Michael Bublé, Jann Arden and other artists are set to perform as the event coincides with an exhibition of lang’s stagewear.
The National Arts Centre in Ottawa hosted a tribute concert for k.d. lang on Thursday, featuring performances by Michael Bubl, Jann Arden, and Allison Russell honoring the Alberta-born singer.
Lang rose to prominence with hits including "Constant Craving" and "Miss Chatelaine" from her 1992 album "Ingenue," establishing her as a distinctive voice across multiple genres throughout her 40-year career.
Collaborators joining the stage included Jane Siberry, whom Lang inducted into the Canadian Songwriters Hall last year, and Ron Sexmith, covered on Lang's 2004 album "Hymns of the 49th Parallel."
Performers including Jill Barber, Mariel Buckley, and William Prince also took the stage, celebrating the Alberta-born singer's diverse body of work spanning cowpunk to smooth contemporary styles.
The concert coincided with an exhibition of Lang's stagewear at the National Arts Centre, marking a comprehensive celebration of the artist's influential 40-year career and cultural impact.
