ATHENS, Ohio –– Melvin Clarence Oxley, age 78, of Athens died late Thursday evening, December 11, 2025, at The Laurels of Athens.  Born in Athens September 10, 1947, he was the son of the late Aubrey Clarence Oxley and Ellen McCune Oxley. A 1965 graduate of Athens High School, he retired from the City of Athens Street Department after several years of service.  He attended the former Athens Church of God.
