Medicaid advocates call on Minnesota lawmakers to take action before session ends
More than 1 million Minnesotans are enrolled in Medicaid, a health insurance program for low-income and disabled individuals.
Medicaid advocates warn that aspects of H.R. 1 effective in 2027 will cause people to lose coverage due to new work requirements, frequent eligibility checks, and shorter retroactive coverage periods.
Matt Anderson states that reducing retroactive coverage from three months to one or two months will cause $27 million in uncovered medical care annually in Minnesota.
Sheila Kennedy says the Medicaid policy change could lead to delayed or no care, higher costs, and worse outcomes for patients.
