In the United States, just over seven months before the mid-term elections, competition authorities validated the merger of two of the main local television networks. Nexstar, the sector's number one, purchased its competitor Tegna for just over $6 billion.
The US Audiovisual Regulator (FCC) approved last week the acquisition of Tegna's local television operator by its competitor Nexstar for $6.2 billion.
