In deep disagreement with the head of government Navin Ramgoolam on several issues, the historic leader of the Mauritian Activist Movement (MMM) announced his resignation from the government on Friday, March 20th. A gesture that also reveals the internal fractures that are going through his formation, 16 of his 18 MPs in Parliament having decided not to follow him and to remain in the ruling coalition.

The leader of the MMM announced his decision in the wake of the "wrong" expressed by Prime Minister Navin Ramgoolam for him.
