On Saturday, Tulane rallied past Southern Miss 24-21 in New Orleans as Maurice Turner scored the decisive touchdown, capping a comeback for the Green Wave.
Southern Miss led 21-14 early in the third quarter after Landry Lyddy threw his third touchdown pass, a 22-yarder to Mario Sanders, forcing Tulane to rely on its rushing attack.
Turner dominated with 200 rushing yards and two touchdowns, while Kadin Semonza added 129 passing yards; Turner's 74-yard go-ahead run with 5:26 remaining secured the victory.
With 1:45 remaining, TJ Smith blocked Creighton Wilbanks' 21-yard field-goal attempt, preventing Southern Miss from scoring after driving to the Tulane 3-yard line.
Tulane now enters a bye week before visiting Army on Oct. 10, while Southern Miss prepares for a road game against Troy on Tuesday, Oct. 6.
