Martinez scores late winner as Inter Milan rally to beat Napoli
- On Saturday, Inter Milan rallied from two goals down to secure a 3-2 victory over Napoli, extending their 100 per cent start to the Serie A title defense. Lautaro Martinez scored the decisive 91st-minute winner.
- Napoli looked set for victory after Matteo Politano and Rasmus Hojlund put the visitors 2-0 up by the 53rd minute. Inter began their comeback when Martinez halved the deficit following a cross from Federico Dimarco.
- Substitute Marcus Thuram leveled the scores in the 82nd minute with a header past Alex Meret. Martinez then stabbed home a loose ball during a goalmouth scramble to settle the extraordinary match.
- The result moved Inter to the top of the Serie A table with 9 points, while Napoli remained on three. Martinez told DAZN, "I'm happy we managed to fight back, that was missing last year."
