The European Best Destinations tourism platform has declared Maribor the best European wine capital in 2026. With the title, the Styrian capital is placed alongside the most prestigious wine destinations in Europe, with the French Bordeaux and the Portuguese Porto ranking second and third.
After being named the best culinary destination in 2023, Maribor has been awarded a new gastronomic title this year - it has been placed at the top of the list of the best wine capitals in Europe.
