Manipur: Protesters clash with police during march to CM's residence
On Saturday, the Imphal Valley-based Meitei organization, the Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity , led a rally near Kangla demanding action against militant attacks on civilians.
COCOMI recently announced a boycott of the ruling BJP, setting April 25 as the deadline for the government to arrest those responsible for a bomb attack in Bishnupur that killed two children.
Authorities later allowed COCOMI leaders to meet the Chief Minister, where they submitted a memorandum demanding an end to the "proxy war" and a judicial probe into a firing incident.
Meanwhile, two people were injured when a Casspir vehicle rammed through barricades set up by locals at Talui village in the Naga-majority Ukhrul district.
The Working Committee of Tangkhul Naga Long reported one injured villager remains in critical condition amid ongoing Kuki-Naga violence in Ukhrul.
