Man Who Tried to Steal Car in Garland Shot, Killed by Driver, Police Say
On Sunday afternoon, a man attempting to steal a Chevrolet Impala in Garland was shot and killed by the driver, according to the Garland Police Department.
Traveling on State Highway 66, the suspect became involved in a multi-vehicle accident at approximately 3:30 p.m., hitting two other vehicles before fleeing to a gas station.
Across Dairy Road at a convenience store, the suspect encountered a Chevrolet Impala containing two adult women and five children, initiating a physical confrontation.
During the physical struggle, the driver produced a handgun and shot the suspect, who was later pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.
No charges have been filed against the driver, and the investigation remains ongoing as Garland Police Department stated the driver is fully cooperating with investigators.
